Get Out There!

Trees have been my life’s work. I have spent more time in their company than with most people, and I think that has done me some good. This blog is where I will share what I have learned, what I am working on, and what keeps me thinking about trees even when I am not in one. I will write about projects that challenge me, books that make me see the world differently, and the quiet moments that remind me why I do this work.

I have spent over twenty years in tree care, and no two trees have ever been the same. Each one has a story, shaped by time, weather, and whatever people have thrown at it. My job is to help trees live their best lives, whether that means preserving an ancient oak, guiding a young tree into a strong future, or working with landowners to shape a landscape that will outlast us all. Good tree work is not just about making cuts. It is about knowing when to leave a tree alone and when to step in. It is about respect.

I will share real stories from the field, changes in the industry, and the knowledge that continues to shape the way I work. If you love trees, or if you just want to understand them a little better, I hope you will read along.

Get out there. Walk among the trees. Pay attention. There is a lot to learn.
